Taste of East Aurora to Showcase Village’s Culinary Creations

 

The third annual Taste of East Aurora, featuring numerous restaurants with ties to the Greater East Aurora community, returns from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, on Main Street, from Olean Road to Riley Street.

“Last year’s event attracted approximately 10,000 visitors, and we expect a large crowd again this year,” said Gary Grote, executive director of the Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce. “Our goal is to focus on the food and restaurants that help make East Aurora a popular destination.”

Farmers & Artisans, Flight of Five Winery to Host Food and Wine Pairing Event

 

Farmers & Artisans of Snyder and Flight of Five Winery in Lockport are teaming up for a special culinary and wine event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14. at the winery, located in Lockport’s Old City Hall at 2 Pine St.

This summer evening spectacular will include a five-course, station-style meal and dessert prepared by Farmers & Artisans chefs and paired with wines from Flight of Five Winery. A 20-minute tour of Old City Hall and the historic Lockport canal locks will also be included.

The Pasta Peddler, Blackbird Sweets to Occupy Larger Hertel Avenue Location

 

The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets, two family owned businesses that operate side-by-side, will move to a larger location at 1547 Hertel Ave., Buffalo, in early August. The businesses currently operate in the Horsefeathers Building at 346 Connecticut St. 

“Our businesses are growing, and as a result we have outgrown our current 650-square-foot operation,” said Eric Amodeo, co-owner of The Pasta Peddler. “Our new location will offer approximately 3,000 square feet of retail and production space. We also hope to add lunch and dinner service and an outdoor patio in the future.”

Pistol’s to Return to Local Food Scene Following Two-year Hiatus

 

A favorite food stand of Erie County Fair fans is about to reappear on the Western New York culinary scene following a two-year hiatus due to illness. And the Pistorio family couldn’t be happier about getting reacquainted with their longtime customers and friends!

Pistol’s food stand, an Erie County Fair staple for 10 years, will return to the local food scene with an appearance at the Queen of Heaven Cruise Night from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 17, and the popular Queen of Heaven Carnival July 18-20. Carnival hours are 6 p.m. to midnight July 18, noon to midnight July 19 and noon to 10 p.m. July 20. Events will take place at 4220 Seneca St. in West Seneca.

Patio Opening Marks Six-month Anniversary of Exit 2 Bar & Grille

 

Exit 2 Bar & Grille, located at 3191 Eggert Road in Tonawanda just off Exit 2 of the I-290, recently celebrated its six-month anniversary by opening a full-service front patio to patrons. 

“Now that the weather appears to have finally changed for the better, we are able to open our patio, thereby expending our seating and giving us the ability to serve more customers,” said Lisa Galus, owner of the popular restaurant. Exit 2 is also celebrating its first summer season by offering a wide variety of summertime dining specials.
