Assemblyman Gabryszak: Bipartisan Budget Agreement Projected to be Early

Joint Legislative Conference Committees are close to passing an on time budget and closing the $10 billion budget deficit

“Yesterday, the Assembly, Senate, and Governor drafted the frame work for the state budget, which is projected to enable it’s on time passage.

“This year, many difficult decisions were made to help close a $10 billion budget gap. We were able to work along with the governor to lessen the economic burden on New York’s working families. In an effort to alleviate hardships, funds have been allocated for economic development; a key component in creating quality jobs in Western New York as well as across the state. In addition, the legislature made needed restorations to proposed cuts in school districts and EPIC.

“I have maintained that it is the responsibility of legislators to deliver an on-time budget; the residents of this state deserve it. This budget cuts state spending, promotes consolidation of state agencies, and adds funds for economic development; three things that we need to get New York back on track to economic prosperity.”
