CHEEKTOWAGA, NY-- Cheektowaga Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating a possible explosion that damaged a local business.

The incident happened sometime overnight at Unit Step, located on Harlem Road near Creekside.

Captain James Speyer of the Cheektowaga Police Department tells 2 On Your Side they received several phone calls from residents around 2am Sunday reporting an explosion near Harlem Road.

Officers patrolling the area did not see anything at the time of the calls.

Speyer says that the owner of Unit Steps called police after he discovered a 'device' near the damage area of his business.

At this time, police say they do not know what the device is and are still investigating.

There were no reports of injuries.
