Lancaster-Depew Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition Sets June Meeting | Community Spirit

The Lancaster-Depew Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition will hold its next regular meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Lancaster Youth Bureau, 200 Oxford Ave.

The meeting will focus on planning several coalition events, including Rock the Village youth concerts and a family movie night for National Night Out on Aug. 2.

The mission of the coalition is to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth in the community by addressing factors that increase the risk of substance abuse and by increasing positive opportunities for youth by promoting the establishment of community collaboration. The coalition is mentored by Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. Parents, students and other community members are encouraged to join.

The coalition also continues its lawn sign campaign targeting underage drinking, and signs are still available for residents and businesses to post in their yards or windows.
