Legislative Outreach Meeting Conducted by Firemen's Association of the State of NY and Erie County Volunteer Firemen’s Association to be held on Saturday, March 19th at 9 AM

(CHEEKTOWAGA, NY)  Local legislative representatives from the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) and Erie County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, fire chiefs, firefighters and EMS personnel will gather for a Legislative Outreach Meeting on Saturday, March 19th at 9 a.m. at the at the Erie County Fire Training Academy located at 3359 Broadway in Cheektowaga. Members of the New York State Legislature have been invited.

In October 2010, FASNY approved a comprehensive 16-item legislative agenda for 2011. To promote FASNY’s new legislative agenda, FASNY is continuing its Legislative Outreach Program.  These educational seminars are designed to provide information on the FASNY agenda and to address other important legislative matters.

Since 2008, the program conducted over 30 meetings throughout the state in coordination with the sectional associations. These meetings covered a variety of topics and usually lasted 60-90 minutes. A typical meeting included explanation of legislative issues, a legislative status report, presentations by legislators, and a question and answer session. Attendees also received a 50- page comprehensive guide to FASNY’s legislative agenda.

Annually, FASNY conducts a number of legislative sessions in various regions throughout the state from January through April.
