Lancaster Relay is Community Event | Community Spirit

Families and community members are invited to gather around the track of Lancaster High School as the fourth annual Lancaster Relay for Life kicks off Saturday, June 2.

The school at 1 Forton Drive stresses that Relay is a community event focused on fighting cancer. The opening ceremony will begin at noon, followed by the survivors and caregivers laps. Afterward, team members will circle the track into the night, symbolizing that cancer never rests.

As of today, 53 teams and 561 participants have raised $18,655, but the fundraising continues in earnest Saturday as teams will line the track and sell items ranging from food to refreshments to jewelry from noon to 10 p.m. A basket raffle also will be available, as well as activities for the kids.
