Jacobs to Sponsor Community Blood Drive at Erie County Auto Bureau

Erie County, NY – Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs will be hosting an open-to-the-public blood drive with Unyts, WNY’s only organ, eye, tissue and community blood center, on Saturday, May 11th from 9am-2pm at the Erie County Auto Bureau located at 2122 George Urban Blvd. in Cheektowaga.

“Giving the gift of life through a blood donation is critically important,” Jacobs said.  “By giving blood, you are helping to make sure there is blood available for your friends and neighbors in their time of need. I would also like to encourage the community to enroll on the New York State Registry as an organ and tissue donor and help the more than 117,000 currently waiting for a transplant.”

Depew Destination Adds Attractions

What started as just as driving range on Broadway in Depew has evolved into a family and corporate destination. There's now an impressive miniature golf course, an ice cream stand, a gift shop, and a party corral available for rent.
The practice dance itself is preferred by golfers because of its adjustable tees and 350 yard length.
They have added weekly events which families will love as well.
The website to check out is www.BroadwayDrivingRange.com.

Worst Road in WNY: Let Us Know Your Choice

Buffalo, NY- This morning we put the call out to Western New Yorkers on social media to tell us about the worst roads in Western New York. And it didn't take long. Within a couple of hours we had a couple hundred responses on Facebook and Twitter. There are more than 300 so far on Facebook alone.

At the top of this list is no surprise..Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls. And Kenmore Avenue in Buffalo and Tonawanda.

Now Buffalo Avenue has the reputation as being the worst road but work is actually underway on a major road re-construction project. Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster says that this federally funded project actually began last year and now involves the stretch of Buffalo Avenue from Veteran's Drive to the 190.
They will work through the fall and hope to have it completed by early next year.
